Storm is breaking out of her concentration camp, which means she's saving Peter from being tortured by flatscans, which means finding out what's up with Ultimate Northstar???? I'm so glad the Ultimate X-Men are back... :D

Batwoman #8

Have you seen the roster of baddies KK is fighting this arc??? Crazy awesome!!! The mythology of this series is so rich and free-standing. That living hook? CRAY. Blood Mary? CRAAAAAY. And the new Croc? Pretty norma- CRAZY!

Kevin Keller #2

PROM! The other KK of comics is planning his high school's prom, which raises the question, who will date-changed Kevin take??? Evidently he has a secret admirer! #squee

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 Freefall #8

So... I don't know if I read issue #7? It's very confusing because it's the only title I follow that isn't digital yet. Evidently B's been vamped? And Andrew will be in this issue! Is he canon-gay yet? This is very confusing for me... #butiwillbuyiteventually #godigital!!!

Supurbia #2

With Night Fox's queer indiscretions coming to light, this series earns itself a place in the hallowed ranks of superqueero comics. With the amazingness of the art, story, and writing themselves, it's earned itself a place forever in my heart. This book rocks. #buyit and see why the wives of superheroes are the new super-team burning up the sales racks!!

Avengers Academy #28

The second (and final) crossover issue with the Runaways! With the Runaways thinking Pym is out to institutionalize them, barely staying civil with the Academy students, and currently stuck in the mystical dino-dimension from which Reptil's powers come this issue is sure to take this storyline out with a roar!

Stormwatch #8

The battle with the gravity miners wraps up, as does Paul Jenkins' run. I'm interested to see how he closes up his run, given that Jenkins has shepherded us through a tumultuous beginning that set up quite a few long-term plot threads. Hopefully none of the hanging threads gets tied up when the gravity miners just, say, kill the Prince of Lies or something equally as deus ex blackhole.

SuperQueeros! for March 28th, 2012

Soooo... MY GOODNESS! This is a very exciting week! Seminal pansexual solo title ends, amazing queer-team story arc begins, a crossover means I'm mentioning a new DC title for the first time... And that's only half of the books below!

Astonishing X-Men #38

First, the good news: Karma and Northstar, on a team together, kicking butt on the streets of NYC: AWESOME. And with Marjorie Liu scribing? CRAZY AWESOME!!! Liu is so good that she even makes me like Gambit, so I am unable to detect any flaws in this book. Honestly, I have been looking forward to this book for three months, three looong months of being starved for a good Karma storyline, and BAM, it's finally here and my life is complete! It really does get better... #tear #buyit #robotleg

Daken: Dark Wolverine #23

Now the sad news: it's Daken's final issue! I really hope he gets swept up into a team title, because he is just... so awesome. And if he dies this issue... right after Stature bit the dust this month... I'm going to have to go down to Marvel and propose "AvX2: Stature and Daken Return!" until I'm blue in the face (or until I spew out a sell-able storyline and they say yes, which ever comes first). But honestly, I hope this issue rocks as hard as Stephanie Brown's last Batgirl issue.

Justice League Dark #7/I, Vampire #7

CROSSOVER TIME: As of I, Vamp #6 the DCnU has been over-run by crazy vampires, and this crossover flows directly out of that. Madame Xanadu knows this sh!t ain't right, but what she doesn't know is how to survive in the new status quo. Will her she be able to lead her team to victory, or is she going to have to consult with a certain heroic vampire to right the world? (It's definitely the latter you guys. #spoilers)

Teen Titans #7

It's The Wall (and the Teen Titans) against N.O.W.H.E.R.E.! They have a super-boy to break out of the top secret, evil, child-altering organization and they're going to need all their psychic bricks to do it! (I would also like to take a moment to look at the Wall's powers: mind-powered strength. It's like the classic girl-power inside, classic boy-power outside. #subtle #butIlikeit)

New Avengers Vol 2 #23

This book is here for Victoria Hand, but I have noooo idea what's up with her these days. Evidently one of the Dark Avengers is going to turn good? My money is on the Hulk's kid.

Archie #631

And finally, what with the recent events regarding the Trayvon Martin case and the excellent point put forth in this Huffington Post article, I'm adding this comic to the list of recommendations. It doesn't have any queer content that I know about, but its focus is on legitimizing an few interracial relationships, and I think the world could use a good message like that right about now.

Plus, Dan Parent is my master. (Sorry, Joss.)

But Hades is a tricky god and you can bet that he won't be letting anything go without a big sacrifice! Can Diana keep up the dangerous games she's been dancing with her famous family, or will she have to punch out every soul on the river Styx to save the day?

X-Factor #233

So Madrox and Layla are an item. But while he was sleeping Lorna and Havok took the reigns of his abandoned organization and X-Factor is back in the government (and Val Cooper's) pocket, ridding the world of heinous threats (when they catch the attention of the U.S.). How are Ric and 'Star adapting to all these changes???

Ultimate Comics X-Men #9

After catching us up with the Ultimate X team last issue, Ultimate Comics X-Men takes us to Camp Angel, the concentration camp that houses Storm and every gay's boyfriend, Colossus! From the cover I'm guessing "prison break" is the theme of the issue, and I am so there!

Batwoman #7

The gyre winds deeper as our heroine faces down a pack of monsters led by "Falchion". Plus, the rest of the awesome cast of this book get screwed more too! Plus, check out Amy Reeder's art on interiors: she's killin' it!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9: Freefall #7

Abortion. Crap. BtVS is defo bringing the realness in this season, which for me is a welcome change from last season's Michael-Bay-spolsion. Plus her roommates become a lil more relevant!

Daken: Dark Wolverine #22

The second to last issue! It's father vs son as Daken takes his fight to NYC and Wolverine. With a death sentence hanging above him will Daken leave a lasting mark on the Marvel U? Or will his sound and fury signify nuthin', bub?

Scarlet Betch Episode 64: Avengers Assemble!

Stormwatch #7

Last issue ended with the Projectionist revealing the coming of the GRAVITY MINERS! I don't know what that means, or how it will play out (Well? Crappy? Gravity-well?), but it expands the universe of Stormwatch while we wait for the Planetary-esque storyline they established last issue to pick up, so I can't be against it.

And speaking of last issue, I love Paul Jenkins' Midnighter! He's... such a bad-ass! Like, really, truly, the explicitly gay Batman! He even says, "I'm the damn Midnighter!", as if Paul Jenkins were an awesome-r Frank Miller! And Apollo really doesn't suck as much either. In the earlier incarnation of the character he became a sort of shadow to Midnighter, a sub-y muscle bunny good only for kisses and deus ex machina. He's still a little directionless (if he hates superheroes why is he joining Stormwatch???), but I've done stupid things for a boy before, and this cocky Midnighter is seducing ME. What chance does 2-D Apollo have if Midnighter's appeal works on three dimensional people?? Basically I'm loving this reboot, especially now that they offed Adam One.

But, anyway, gravity miners. And stuff.

Avengers Academy #27

The Runaways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, Chase is alive and Gert isn't. Who KNOWS what Kathryn Immonen's cliffhanger even meant now, but we get an issue of Striker vs. Victor (HOT) and the first reunion of Karolina and Julie Power since the Loners debuted in volume 2 of Runaways! Also HOT!! #fangasm
