SuperQueeros! for October 22nd, 2014

Halloween is fast approaching, and all the comics are getting in the spirit, starting with Buffy! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 10 #8

And your Halloween present from the Scooby gang is... a return to Sunnydale! And there's a magical, monsterous party going down at the Hellmouth this year, thanks to Willow and the gang's re-magik-ing of Earth. I wonder what everyone is going as?

Earth 2: World's End #3

The War for the World continues, and masks start making a big difference! Under the helm of Dr. Fate, what are Nabu's intentions, now that he has control?

Multiversity: The Just #1

Reality gets in costume with thus celebrity superheo What If...? when Grant Morrison's multiverse-spanning narrative hits Earth-16. But the real question is... who's going to come out on the cover of People? (Fair Warning: It may be no one. [But there is that gay Flash character in the main Multiversity arc, so I can't imagine they wouldn't pass up the opportunity...])

Wicked + Divine #5

The solicit only says... "Showtime". Spooky.

Amazing X-Men #12

Now that the Wendi-demic has spread to US soil, Northstar and his twin sister are the only things standing in the way of us and furred out costumes for everyone!

Avengers and X-men: Axis #3

Mystique has joined the fight against the Red Onslaught, so this book is relevant to our list! I wonder who she is going to dress as to fight giant adamantium Sentinels? Also, where did that much adamantium come from? I thought this was supposed to be a rare metal.

She-Hulk #9

Shulkie and team join up with Steve Rogers against their ultimate courtroom adversary: the Daredevil! (The Halloween tie-in is that he's a devil. Of sorts.)

X-Force #11

Psylocke and crew have to try to recruit the mutant version of The Silence. Can they remember to do it? And will anyone be wearing a TARDIS dress? And can it be Dr. Nemesis?

SuperQueeros! for August 6th, 2014

Now that the collective comic-verse has some mainstay superqueeros, they keep showing up in ensemble titles, like Batman Eternal or Archie. As a result, it's a full week for SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Rachel Rising #27

Rachel is closing in on her killer, but things may get a little hectic when someone thinks they're close to getting their secret outed. Their deep, dark secret...

Batman Eternal #18

Batwoman, accompanied by Jason Todd and Batman, is on the scene to help save James Gordon!

Earth 2 #26

Just when Val-Zod and Green Lantern could use a hand in defeating Kal-El, a Boom Tube opens to reveal... Power Girl!

Harbinger Omegas #1

The post-Harada-calypse Valiant-verse is under the microscope in this miniseries, especially as it relates to the lives of the surviving Renegades, like superqueero Kris.

Archie #658

Kevin Keller is part of the main cast now, so I imagine he'll be showing up to help Betty turn the tables on Archie's end-of-summer dating spree.

She-Hulk #7

The Blue Folio investigation continues! This time, with Pym particles! (And another amaze-balls Kevin Wada cover!)

SuperQueeros! for July 16, 2014

Rejoice! After last month's outing of everyone's favorite Renegade and this week's re-launch of an old chestnut, it is a veritable renaissance for the... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Harbinger #25

Though a woman was refrigerated to do it, Kris is now the first SuperQueero from Valiant! This double-sized issue is set to focus more on tying up Toyo Harada, but after he's gone the Harbingers will be left in uncharted, Sapphic waters!

Teen Titans #1

YES! Bunker is back! He, Wonder Girl, Raven, Beast Boy, and Red Robin are superheroic counselors to tomorrow's metahumans in this iteration of one of DC's most excellent teams. It sounds like we'll be getting freak-of-the-week, teeenager style. Like Earth 2 plus Avengers Academy/Arena/Undercover.

Life with Archie #36

But, as with all things, this week can't be all reboots and fresh starts. The awesome Life with Archie is closing it's metaphorical doors with, what else, The Death of Archie. Tune in for what may be Clay Walker's last appearance!

Batwoman #33

Batwoman's tumble with Nocturna sends her to the lair of the Night-Thief!

Rat Queens #7

It's attack of the Elder Gods in Rat Queens this week! Can the Queens beat back this eldritch horde?

X-Men #16

Psylocke, Jubes, and the rest of Storm's team take on the Future!

Honorable Mentions

The fabulous She-Hulk (#6) continues to smash her way through The Blue File, outfitted in the best Kevin Wada covers to ever hit the stands. Meanwhile, over in the X-verse, we have the X-Men's 100th Anniversary Special (who were created 51 years ago...), as well as "The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier" in Uncanny X-Men #23. I don't think there's much of a chance that we will get to see Morph, but you never know! Lastly, the latest issue of Wicked & Divine is out, which gets included because, with gods inhabiting mortal bodies, there has to be someone queering it up!

SuperQueeros! for May 7th, 2014

Ah, the afterglow of Free Comic Book Day! ... Okay, enough reminiscing. The world is a'turning and comics are a'churning! It's time to get MOAR SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

The Movement #12

The last issue! What an awesome and queer cast this book has: Rainmaker, Virtue, and Burden (Oh, yeah, he came out at the end of the last issue) are all SuperQueeros that have come alive in this title's short run. Hopefully these kids will survive to get recruited into some Suicide Squad or another. But for now, it's time to say good-bye. How will Gail choose to (consummately) say it?
