SuperQueeros! for August 27th, 2014

It's quality over quantity this week for... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Saga #22

It's been a while since we've seen Upsher and Doff, and I'm not sure if we will this arc, but this cover is definitely bangin'!

Avengers Undercover #9

The (good guy) cavalry has arrived and it's time for our team of supes to decide on their suffix: will they be -hero, or -villain? And can Bloodstone break free from the Son of Satan before Damian makes that decision for him?

SuperQueeros! for August 13th, 2014

One last hurrah for Simone's Batgirl, the Alpha Flight teams up with Northstar's new team, and is there romance in the (dungeon) air for Bloodstone?! ... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #34

It's Batgirl's last issue before she moves out of her apartment and goes back to school! (Doesn't she already have one doctorate? Greedy!) Anyway, it seems like this may be our last chance to catch some Alysia Yeoh for a while, so pick up the issue to say farewell!

Amazing X-Men #10

Northstar's in trouble, and he thinks of Kyle! Tres cute, and the next best thing to panel time for our favorite x-spouse. Let's see if Jean-Paul and the rest of the Amazing X-Men can help clean up the Wendigo epidemic in the Great White North now that Jean-Paul's old team, Alpha Flight, is saddling up to lend a hand!

Avengers Undercover #8

Three months have passed since the last issue and... is that a kiss I see for Bloodstone?! Villainous romance, <3 div="">

X-Force #8

Psylocke and the team run afoul of M13 and Pete Wisdom.

X-Men #18

Psylocke and the team head to space for some S.W.O.R.D. and Shi'ar time. Psylocke sure keeps a busy schedule...

SuperQueeros! for July 9th, 2014

Wendigo, Knightfall, Domino,... and Alex Wilder?! Yup, it's old friends returning (from the dead) this week in... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #33

Knightfall is getting all the criminals out of Gotham. So why is Batgirl trying to stop her? And will activists like Alysia be allowed to stay?

Avengers Undercover #7

Alex Wilder is back!!! Is this Nico's Achille's heel of EVIL?
 Lumberjanes #4

The girls continue their quest for answers!

Original Sins #3

The continuation of Hulkling and Prodigy's story!

Amazing X-Men #9

The crew goes to save Wolverine from the Wendigos!

X-Force #7

SuperQueeros! for June 25th, 2014

We've got a wealth of titles this week! Beleaguered aunts, booby-trapped reporters, nefarious federal agents, boys standing in the face of temptation, impostor ninjas, young masters, and... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Ms. Marvel #5

Every week I look at the covers of the comics coming out this week and choose my favorite to lead the post. This week, though, the best cover is from my favorite non-'queero title. Look at that cover. Gorgeous. #kamalakorps

Rachel Rising #26

Dr. Siemen is activating a chip inside Aunt Johnny's head! What will it do?

Saga #20

Our narrator's parents careen towards divorce!

Chew #42

"Chicken Tenders" continues! And doesn't Tony look happy about it? And don't those cyborg animals look happy about it?

Original Sins #3

Hulkling and Prodigy continue to bound toward dark, dark secrets!

X-Force #6

A team member dies! Who are you hoping for?

Avengers Undercover #6

SuperQueeros! for April 23rd, 2014

It's the end of Teen Titans! Plus, wee Giles! And a death for Avengers Undercover?! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Teen Titans #30

The teens are back from the post-apocalyptic home universe of Kid Flash, just in time for FOREVER EVIL and their series to end! Anyway, it looks like they are going to be wrapping up the Harvest storyline (remember that?). Plus, we get the return of Beast Boy and, most importantly, Bunker! But the best thing about this issue? That gorgeous cover!

SuperQueeros! for April 9th, 2014

Lumberjanes, All-New Ultimates, Batgirl... There are a lot of awesome comics coming out this week, but Avengers Undercover may be the only one with any... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Avengers Undercover #2

Remember when Wiccan, Hulkling, Karolina, and Xavin were all captured in that Runaways/Young Avengers crossover? And then that time Hulkling was held hostage by Mother? And all those stories with Karma? 'Queeros seem to be the new damsels in distress, and Bloodstone is latest in the line of gays getting gang-pressed into the evil orders. But gosh, does he get to smash a LOT of tanks for a hostage! And who knows, maybe by the end of this saga he'll have gotten even more angst-y and have a higher degree of control over his powers! Oh, and maybe Son of Satan swings both ways and we'll get an allegory for relationships with controlling boyfriends!

SuperQueeros! for March 12th, 2014

Bloodstone is baaack! Plus we get some more Psylocke in X-Force and Batgirl is back fighting her slayer! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Avengers Undercover #1

Bloodstone is BAAACK! Along with Deathlocket, Hazmat, Anachronism, and Cammi (a.k.a., the best characters in Avengers Arena who weren't straight-up villains ['Sup, Apex?]) , Bloodstone is going undercover to take down the Masters of Evil from the inside. But will these PTSD-afflicted kids be able to walk the line between looking evil and being evil without going off the deep end? And what will happen when they form new bonds with the truly evil members? Is it more heroic to betray a villain, or protect a friend??

Oh, and what are the dating prospects like?

SuperQueeros! for November 27th, 2013

Doctor Who is all over the place this week, Saga explores its 'queeros, and Avengers Arena kills it's last students! Plus a whole bunch of other... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Doctor Who #15

Did everyone watch the 50th anniversary special??? Wasn't it EXCELLENT? Anyway, back in comicsville, it's the Doctor and Oscar Wilde against that alien gunman! How much wit can one alien take???

Saga #16

I think last issue we found out that the reporter duo are queer! Or, at least, that they are a couple who express the same gender. Alien sexuality is so treacherous to try to decode... But I say they read queer! Now what are their names, again?

SuperQueeros! for November 13th, 2013

I'm guessing that the overflow of Batman: Year Zero into Batgirl this week means no Alysia Yeoh, so we've only got two SuperQueero titles this week, and they're both from Marvel! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

The Fearless Defenders #11

It's Amazons Ahoy this month as we get some more backstory for Hippolyta when the team visits New Amazonia! Plus, it's Ren Kimura's first mission as a terrigen-mutated metahuman, her first mission with her new team, AND her first mission with Dr. Annabelle Riggs, her new looooooooove interest! But in the land of super-hot warrior ladies, will Ren and Annabelle make their love connection, or will they be too distracted by the paradise around them?

Avengers Arena #17

Last we left our heroes, Apex and Deathlocket had just awakened Old-Darkhawk (Arcade, WHY did you let this kid LIVE???), which was fortunate since they had also just been captured by Arcade! Upstairs, the remaining contestants are continuing to kill each other, oblivious to the potential change in Dungeon Master below them. How much longer can Arcade keep ahead of this steadily deteriorating situation? And who will be the Andrew Jackson of this story, taking a life after the war is over?

SuperQueeros! for October 9th, 2013

I declare this week the week of amazing covers! Take a look inside to see the duds sported by this week's... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Astonishing X-Men #68

The end of an era!!!! Liu bids adieu to her seminal line-up (a veritable rainbow-squad of X-men!) in this, the final issue of Astonishing X-Men! But with X-Factor ending on hints of a reboot, can we hope that Northstar, Kyle, Karma, and Liu will get the same treatment and be teaming up again soon under a new #1??? We can only wish (loudly and with our wallets)!!!

Afterlife with Archie #1

Oh my gosh, I am so excited for this! I'm not sure if Kevin Keller will be included (They'd be fools not to! FOOLS!), but "Riverdale meets Walking Dead"is the most brilliant thing since Kevin met Clay! Fingers crossed that the follow through is as wicked-cool as the premise!

SuperQueeros! for September 11th, 2013

Since DC is all villain-y this month, I took the opportunity to look around and found a 'queero in Terry Moore's Rachel Rising! Plus, Bloodstone finally gets the spotlight again in Avengers Arena and we may get some progress on his storyline in this week's... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Rachel Rising #19

Rachel is locked in battle with Lilith over her hometown of Manson, but luckily she's got her Aunt Johnny and johnny's gf Carol to back her up. With a some 'queero's in reserve, what could go wrong?

SuperQueeros! for August 28th, 2013

It's a mixed bag this week, but we DEFINITELY get the continuation of last month's SHOCKING Young Avengers! Plus Astonishing X-men and many more... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Young Avengers #9

The solicit for this issue reads:

We wanted to just write "Screaming! Screaming! Screaming!" for this solicit, but we're told we need boring old facts. :(

...and truer words were never spoken! Well, aside from the dumb facts bit. I have been SCREAMING SCREAMING SCREAMING for the past month over Prodigy's kiss stealing, and I'm going to be SCREAMING SCREAMING SCREAMING over to this book this month to see just WHY Hulkling looks so mopey!

Astonishing X-men #66

The coolest cover EVER. Stuff happens as this AMAZING series winds to its close! D:

Avengers Arena #13

So, we know Molly and Ant-man are trying to find there way into this book (bringing along girlfriends Julie Power and Karolina Dean) and it seems like a lot of these dead characters are coming back in one form or another (Mettle is now a Doombot, basically), so the body count of this book looks like it might be topping out. But who knows! Maybe they'll kill your fav in the final scene!

SuperQueeros! for August 14th, 2013

It's the last issue of Demon Knights! Be sure to check out how it all ends when you pick up the latest issue of Supurbia, Batgirl, Fearless Defenders, and 4 other comics featuring your favorite... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Supurbia #10

With Sovereign out of commission and Eve cowed by guilt, the team has lost it's heart and it's... bazooka? Anyway, they're going to have to pull together when they split up to rescue the kidnapped Zari and the captured Agent Twilight! And what can Hella do now that she's trapped back in her ex-boyfriend's clutches? #kickbutt

SuperQueeros! for July 10th, 2013

DC's New 52 DOMINATED last week's SuperQueeros. Think the other companies can rally the troops this week? SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #22

Now that Babs has decided to hang up her cape, maybe will get some page-time for Geeks Out's favorite new superqueero, Alysia Yeoh!

Supurbia #9

This is a jumping on point. So, what have you missed? Well,...

1. Hella climbed out of her hole of self-loathing to save Zari and Sara from becoming Evil Witches 2: The Next Generation, but he butt-head of an ex, Hector, only let her save one of them!
2. She picked Sara, the one least resistive to his corruption and also the Squib daughter of Batu (Think Wonder Woman + Barda).
3. But with Hector's evil magic having reduced our Superman/Hyperion allegory (and Hella's current boo), to a sweaty, wonkily-powered mess, who can take out this Hell-adjacent ex and save Zari???
4. Also: Has Night Fox gotten back from whining and lounging at his parents' intergalactic estate? Isn't his boy toy, Agent Twilight, still being held captive by evil robots?? Oh, and speaking Robo-Ruth, this is all part of her master plan, right????

Avengers Arena #12

NICO ISN'T DEAD!!!! I guess that's one of the blessings of superqueero physics: it's main operating principle is drama. Anyway,  now that her corpse has been reanimated, it looks like Nico is powered-up and looking for some vengeance! Hopefully superqueero Bloodstone won't end up a casualty in her wake!

Fearless Defenders #6

Valkyrie is the evil Doom Maiden of Rage!!! In addition to vomiting blood, it looks like she's also going to be ending the life of one of the superheroes who showed up to help her stop the Doom Maidens. But will it be her love interest, Dr. Annabelle Riggs? And will this start an Orphean journey to retrieve her from Hela's kingdom? Oh, and can they pick up Howlett's bf while they're down there?

Astonishing X-men #64

Bobby Drake is SNOWMAGGEDON! With NYC and much of the Northern Hemisphere covered in snow, is this the dawn of a new Age of Apocalypse, or can Iceman's teammates and exes, including superqueeros Karma, Northstar, and Mystique, save Bobby from a fate worse than Angel's?

Young Avengers #7

Now that they're exiled from Earth until Wiccan's charm from issue #1 can be reversed, the YA are picking up where Noh-Varr (winner of the Capie for best new costume design) and Hawkeye left off: ridding the universe of Skrull thugs! But how will Hulkling feel about bagging boys whose race he shares, even if he's also half Kree? And, whatever way it is, will we get to see some cuteness from his Capie award-winning relationship?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9: Freefall #23

Willow and her friends are lagging behind the Siphon and his Slayer. Will they be able to stop him from reversing the course of time, or is the world destined to regain its magic and rewrite the last 22 issues? And what's Billy been getting up to back home?

Demon Knights #22

Vandal Savage has turned the giants to his side (of course...) and now he's on the attack! Will the Shining Knight and zher girlfriend Exoristos be able to protect the Grail????

Chew #35

I covered this issue on June 26th, but it definitely didn't come out digitally then. Check for it at you local comic book store this week, though!

SuperQueeros! for June 26th, 2013

It's a hummingbird! It's a Hot Wheels Plane! It's... No teaser this week! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

Morning Glories #28

Evidently this issue is going to be a double-sized conclusion to the first arc of the new season. That's two double size issues all at once! I wonder if that means that the trade will only be issues 27 and 28... ANYWAY IS THAT HISAO/JUN ON THE COVER WTF I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD! And, most importantly, is he gay like his twin?

Prophet #36

No mention of John Ka in the solicit, but it is getting pretty dramatic in the Prophet-verse!

FF #8

Everyone goes to rescue Bentley-23! Will Tong's gender identity help her save the day?

Chew #35

The hunt for the vampire continues! I don't think we had John or Mike last issue... fingers crossed! And also hidden far away from any chibopathic mouths!

Avengers Arena #11

Now that Mettle is totes dead and Finesse is outside of Chester's Mill, Hazmat and Reptil are evidently pairing up. Unless this is a bi triple involving Bloodstone, color me YAWN. Unless unless this is just build-up for killing off Reptil...

X-Men #2

John Sublime's sister is on the warpath, and Sublime himself is here to help the team take her down. But with his sister in control of Omega Sentinel, will the X-men survive long enough to decide if they can trust him? Oh, and will we see more of Bling!?????????

Teen Titans #21

Everyone knows Robin is bad! How does Bunker feel about one of his straight best friends being a totes baddie???

All New X-Men #13

The baby X-men take the fight to Mystique as they try to clear their names!

Justice League Dark #21

We find out how all the kids die! Including Xanadu? Isn't that exactly how her powers don't work?

Young Avengers #6

One of the best and queerest books around tackles Speed and Prodigy, the least interesting character and the most PERFECT (if he were queer) character, respectively. Wiccan and Hulkling might show up in this book, or it will be about the twenty-something experience at a desk job. So, basically, you can't go wrong with this one!

True Blood #14

More undead waitresses! Possible Lafayette?

Scarlet Betch Episode 74

Hey Betches!

Hi folks! So we've been known to go on hiatuses every now and then... but this last one was a doozy! We're back this week and in rare form. This episode is all ladies all the time. With Marvel's release of Fearless Defenders and their all women X-men, we've got a lot of divas floatin' around. We also shake our fists at Peter David for possibly killing off two of our favorite queeros, and facepalm at Demon Knights' new gendered treatment of Sir Ystin. We got a lot more this episode. Hope you enjoy! Subscribe to our podcast over at the iTunes site, or download it directly HERE!

SuperQueeros! for June 5th, 2013

Now this is more like it! This week we have a bumper crop of books featuring... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

Fearless Defenders #5

Misty Knight hires some friggin' HEROES! Which ones? Regardez the cover, s'il vous plait. She hires THEM ALL. #doommaidenbrawl

Locke & Key: Omega #5

Dodge's shadow forces are on the move, Tyler's been shot, and seniors are dying at an alarmingly graphic rate. Will Dodge win, or can the Lockes pull out a victory at the last second?

X-Factor #257

Rictor and Shatterstar aren't gone, according to the character page! Who knows if they're still dead, though. What with Strong Guy being the new Lord of Hell, maybe they're the underground division of X-Factor Investigations... Oh, and Demon!Jamie is being held prisoner in Marrakesh.

Kevin Keller #9

Summer issue! Kevin (and the two rivals for boyfriend status on his Facebook page) in swimsuits!

Avengers Arena #10

Nico takes on Justin's Sentinel! What developments will we get for proto-gay Bloodstone?

Fashion Beast #10
The last issue! With Le Patron dead, will Doll pass on his legacy to the deserving man she just outed to the DADT armed forces with whom she had him sent away?

Detective Comics #21

Harper joins Batman on a missions! Maybe we'll see something about her bro?

All New X-men #12

Mystique's plans, though thwarted by the Avengers in the short term, continue to unfold. Oh, and Young Scott meets Old Alex the Avenger.

Earth 2 #13

Judging from the upcoming covers, it looks like this is the prelude to a war between the rising legions of metahumans. What terrible secret will the World Army discover?

The Movement #2

Being responsible for the protection of peace and harmony in a whole quarter of a city is a daunting task, but the Movement is ready to face it head on. But will we be getting any character backstories this issue...?

Stormwatch #21

Now Stormwatch fights Lobo!

SuperQueeros! for May 8th, 2013

What's in Gio's pouch? Does the Shining Knight's newly minted damnation bar yo from achieving zhis quest? And how will the dashing Dr. Riggs react to the revelation of her sweetie's doom-y origins? All this and much more in this week's... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

Supurbia #7

Last issue Aso found the impossible: a third child of a Daughter of Bright Moon! How can she leverage this secret, and will she want to, given that Batu still seems convinced that Eli must die? Plus, this issue Sara is going to reach a turning point in her corruption at the hands of Hector Hunt, who's well on his way to enacting his plan to use the Weapons Expo as cover for his jailbreak. Will Alexis be able to stop him? And what's in that glowing red bag that Agent Twilight liberated from that clearly-a-set-up "arms dealer"? And who wants him to have it? Diabolical shapeshifting robot Ruth, perhaps????

Astonishing X-Men #62

Iceman has some fallout from his time in the AoA. Probably something to do with that death seed that Dark Beast shoved into him? I'm sure his ex, Mystique, will only be helpful in this situation!

Prophet #35

"New father prophet" is searching for a weapon. I wonder if gender-bent John Ka will be the 'queero to find it?

Avengers Arena #9

Did you catch the double coming out last issue? Cammi outed Bloodstone and Apex transitioned! Plus Chase revealed that he's the new Darkhawk, Justin's paraplegic, and Anachronism finally got the bloodthirsty bully of his dreams. What will happen next???

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9: Freefall #21

Willow's back! And Xander has just thrown in his allegiance with the Big Bads!!! Will his work as a double agent double Dawn's chances of survival? Or doom her to fading out of reality completely???? And what are Billy and Anaheed up to? For that matter, where did Illyria go???

Demon Knights #20

So Sir Ystin is a vampire now? How will that affect zher quest for the Grail? And does Exoristos find vampires sexy???

Fearless Defenders #4

As the solicit says, "Come for the banter, stay for the suprises!" And by surprises, they mean retcons: Valkyrie kissed a maiden in the first issue and in issue 3 figured out that her whole origin is bupkiss: she's a Doom Maiden!!!! Hopefully this won't affect her budding relationship with Dr. Annabelle Riggs...

Life with Archie: Archie Marries Veronica #39

So evidently the political muckraking is about to begin for Kevin's senatorial campaign. I'm just confused: if Kevin publicly married Clay, how is it going to be a controversial issue that his opponent can exploit? Unless marriage equality isn't the norm in Future!Riverdale? Because it's impossible to have unrepentant haters in the Archie-verse, right??

Witchblade #166

Now that Sara knows the truth about the remade universe, it's time to bring it down, starting with the world's only honest politician. Will Dani step in to stop her? (In my fanfic she does, just as Finch/the Angelus is interfering too. Dani and Finch see each other across the room and, WHAMO, love at first-sight-in-this-iteration-of-the-Image-verse!)

SuperQueeros! for May 1st, 2013

Revision to a retraction! Remember how Kid Briton called Anachronism and Bloodstone boyfriends before his untimely beheading? Well, it turns out he was only half being a homophobic jerk: Bloodstone is gay! So go pick up his coming out issue, Avengers Arena #8, and Tong's coming out issue of FF, #6, and then check out all the awesome comics coming out this week that feature... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

The Movement #1

Gail Simone's new Occupy-inspired comic starts this week, and Gail has said on Twitter that there will be an LGBTQ character! Intriguing and exciting!

X-Factor #255

"Hell on Earth War" concludes and someone "unexpected" will be sitting on the throne of hell. I would least expect Rictor, but given M's recent diagnosis, maybe X-Factor's invincible bad-as will choose to ascend to godhood rather than slump off this mortal coil?

Chew #35

Chu continues to go after his sister's vampiric killer, while Applebee and his new ally, Colby, set up the next phase in his game.

Fashion Beast #9

The penultimate issue! With the power structure shifting around her, where will Doll emerge?

Artifacts #27

I checked out the last issue of this and I'm up on my stuff: Dani Baptiste is just a cop and Finch, her gf in the old universe, is the Angelus in this new universe that the Darkness created! In short: we have superqueero!

Earth 2 #12

Dr. Fate and Wotan's battle seems to have caught the attention of a certain Lantern...

Archie #643

"Archie Meets Glee" continues! Will Puck pash Betty? Will Kevin connect with Blaine? Will both universes IMPLODE???

Stormwatch #20

Apollo, Midnighter, and the rest of the new Stormwatch team pummel aliens in their first off-world mission!

All New X-men #11

Angel goes AWOL, Jean goes Omega-level, and maybe we'll get some advancement of Mystique's plotting?

Ultimate Comics X-men #26

Colossus gets a mention by Storm in the first few pages; does this mean he'll be showing up this issue?
