SuperQueeros! For October 29th, 2014

It's Halloween once more! I better see some of you dressed as the God of War, Diana, this year! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!
Wonder Woman #35
It had to come to an end eventually. That's right, it's the grand finale of Brian Azzarello's character-defining run on Wonder Woman wraps up this week. Diana is all set to defeat her older half-brother while her little Togepi kid is revving up to fulfill his prophecy. But what of the "surprises" the spicier speaks of? And what status quo will we be left with when this issue closes? Who will it be on the throne of Olympus?

Rachel Rising #29
Next month Rachel finds out her killer. This month, though, she has to deal with a cult. Wacky!

Harbinger Omegas #3
Toyo and Peter go head to head!

Saga #24
Alana's descent into drug-fueled acting continues! Plus "The Brand"! And "Sweet Boy"!

SuperQueeros! for October 22nd, 2014

Halloween is fast approaching, and all the comics are getting in the spirit, starting with BuffySuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 10 #8
And your Halloween present from the Scooby gang is... a return to Sunnydale! And there's a magical, monsterous party going down at the Hellmouth this year, thanks to Willow and the gang's re-magik-ing of Earth. I wonder what everyone is going as?

Earth 2: World's End #3
The War for the World continues, and masks start making a big difference! Under the helm of Dr. Fate, what are Nabu's intentions, now that he has control?

Multiversity: The Just #1
Reality gets in costume with thus celebrity superheo What If...? when Grant Morrison's multiverse-spanning narrative hits Earth-16. But the real question is... who's going to come out on the cover of People? (Fair Warning: It may be no one. [But there is that gay Flash character in the main Multiversity arc, so I can't imagine they wouldn't pass up the opportunity...])

Wicked + Divine #5
The solicit only says... "Showtime". Spooky.

Amazing X-Men #12
Now that the Wendi-demic has spread to US soil, Northstar and his twin sister are the only things standing in the way of us and furred out costumes for everyone!

Avengers and X-men: Axis #3
Mystique has joined the fight against the Red Onslaught, so this book is relevant to our list! I wonder who she is going to dress as to fight giant adamantium Sentinels? Also, where did that much adamantium come from? I thought this was supposed to be a rare metal.

She-Hulk #9
Shulkie and team join up with Steve Rogers against their ultimate courtroom adversary: the Daredevil! (The Halloween tie-in is that he's a devil. Of sorts.)

X-Force #11
Psylocke and crew have to try to recruit the mutant version of The Silence. Can they remember to do it? And will anyone be wearing a TARDIS dress? And can it be Dr. Nemesis?

SuperQueeros! for October 15th, 2014

Look at that gorge-o Kevin Wada cover! DC is, once again, killing it with the queer-inclusivity this week, plus we get Noelle Stevenson's Lumberjanes, and I missed a horror comic from last week! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Lumberjanes #7
Now that the 'janes have the knowledge they've been seeking, will they be able to get past a fickle foe from their past? That's right, it's the terrible return of... The Boys Camp! (Plus, have you guys seen? You can pre-order a copy of Nimona now!)

Batwoman #35
Kate finds herself in the company of Gotham's baddest bogeypeople as she joins forces with Red Alice, Ragman, the Demon, and Clayface. But what could cause the city's favorite socialite vigilante to join up with her sworn enemies? That's just what this issue seeks to unearth!

Teen Titans #3
A Kevin Wada cover?! Sweet-as! Oh, and the action centers around Raven this issue when her night off turns into a throw-down!

Earth 2 World's End #2
Enter the first horseman, the woman known only as... WAR!

PLUS, last week's The October Faction #1 implied either that the son is gay, or that he just handles homophobic bullying like a superstar. So... I'm counting him! Also, Morph may make an appearance in Uncanny X-Men #27, but Cyke is the focus of the solicit. And, while the new "best there is at what she does", Kamala Kahn, finds out some more about her past in Ms. Marvel #9, the old "best there is at what he does" faces his grim demise in Death of Wolverine #4. That's right, Wolverine dies! Again. Presumably not to be resurrected by the Hand this time. Can the Hand resurrect you twice? Also, how does that work? Is Northstar just a magically animated corpse, or did his temporary death have literally no consequences?

SuperQueeros! for October 6th, 2014

DC takes the top spot this week with Batgirl and Earth 2! Plus, none of the characters are Batman's wife! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #35
Batgirl may be getting rebooted (she literally has new boots), but that doesn't mean that Alysia is going to fade into the background! Her activism is already tying her into the main storyline so, even if she isn't rooming with Babs anymore, Yeoh is here to stay!

Earth 2 #27 and Earth 2: Future's End #1
I'm lumping these two issues together because the solicits sound almost exactly the same... Based on the covers I'd say there's a granddaughter-grandpa fight, then the Green Lantern makes a cameo in order to tell the Huntress and NuBatman to stop their family feuding and help fight some Parademons. And since it's Futures End, I'm assuming everyone gets turned into robots?

X-Force #10
The team meets up with a Character of the Month from X-Men: Legacy #300. I have totally forgotten this "ForgetMeNot" person...

Archie #660
Archie has four dates on the same night! And the solicit promises "cameos galore", which I take to mean "Yes, we shoehorned Kevin into this storyline about straight white male promiscuity." Which actually does make we want to read this issue, even if I just read the issue.

There's also a whole bunch of awesome horror comics coming out this week, including (The Chilling Adventures of) Sabrina #1, a dark take on the Sabrina mythology in the vain of Afterlife with Archie, and Klarion #1, the New 52's ongoing series about the witch-boy guardian of chaos himself. I don't know if there are any queer characters in ANY of them, but Sabrina is written by IRL superqueero Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and I've always thought that being a Witch Boy is gender non-conformist.
