Two of my favorite books are out this week! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

Young Avengers #5

Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's masterpiece continues! From the preview it looks like the Loki who just betrayed our hipster heroes has caught a case of the "Tom Hiddlestons" and reverted to a movie-verse level of mischief-doing. The real question, though, is if the Bode-ghost of his more altruistic incarnation will be able to kick the butt of his former self and regain control of both his body and Wiccan's powers! Also, how is the currently powerless Wiccan faring against the tide of zombie-parents currently charging the rest of the Young Avengers?

Fearless Defenders #4.1

Backstory issue! We get the connection between the current storyline's villain, Caroline LeFay, and the more familiar Morgan. And it involves... Doctor Doom?? Hopefully we get to see some of Dr. Annabelle Riggs too, since it looks like it's going to be mostly Hippolyta-focused. Hey, maybe they were girlfriends! And got simultaneous amnesia! #comics

The evil-Robin, Raven-introducing storyline continues!

Justice League Dark #20

Dr. Destiny has stolen the House of Mystery! Now it's up to Madame X and the JLD to get it back! But what parts will Swamp Thing and the Flash play?

True Blood #13

It's a hell of a day at Merlotte's when all the ex-employees show up at once! And by "ex" I mean "dead".

Young Avengers #3

FIGHT SCENES. The team knows that there are weirdo putty monsters taking over the "adults" and they are starting to realize that they are a team. Kinda. So that means that everyone needs to be pushed onto the same side, which means: FIGHT SCENES. Also, if this book has "plentiful feels," as the solicit promises, does that mean that we'll get some Sterek???? (J/k! But if we don't get some hot Wiccling I'mma be huntin' that solicit writer DOWN.)

Morning Glories #25

It's the end of season 1 for this AWESOME, mind-eff of a comic! And it's 8:13!!!! (For readers of this book, I'm TOTES hoping that means that it will finally be 8:14 the next time Hunter looks at a clock...) Who will change sides? Who will die? And who will come back to life as an older, meaner Layla Miller???? #prediction

Life with Archie #28

Kevin's campaign for Senate continues, with 'Ronnie at the helm as campaign manager! but what happens when there aren't enough hours in the day and Fred Mirth is actively working to ruin each one of those 24 hours???

Astonishing X-men #60

X-Termination continues! Wolvie fights Weapon Omega (a.k.a. Apocalypse!Wolvie)! Here's hoping that Karma finds the time to get post-apocalypse'd into getting butt-kicking-er!

Teen Titans #18

So, as I'm sure we've all read, post"Death of the Family" Tim Drake is problematic and evil now, as is the writing in this book. Will Bunker's queerness protect him from being a victim of the weird and disingenuous approach to sexuality, or make him victim number three???? (Also, what with all the women throwing themselves at TD, is it too much to ask for him to hook up with EVERYONE he runs into? Cap'n Jack-esque? #Kon-el/Tim)

Justice League Dark #18

It's the conclusion of the "Death of Magic" storyline, and it promises to "shift the status quo" of the team. What with Constantine getting his own series, does this mean that team will see him leave and a new leader take his place? Fingers crossed for Madame Xanadu!

Hack/Slash #25

It's the conclusion of the "Final" finale (and the series)! Cassie fights Samhain to the DEATH!

Also, I just did some research on James' title. In the solicit he is referred to as "Captain Howlett", which is where I determined his title. But astute reader Jason Tseng picked up that Emmeline calls him "General Howlett" on page 3. However he is the "former governor general" of Canada, which in our universe grants the title of "The Right Honourable James Howlett". So... I'm just gonna call him James Howlett. ;D
