SuperQueeros! for October 27th, 2010

X-Men: Curse of the Mutants - X-Men vs. Vampires #2
KARMA STORY! The traditional annual collection of X-Men character vignettes has rolled around to it's requisite queer story, and it's about KARMA! I've definitely been missing my monthly Karma-inclusive stories ever since New Mutants started ignoring its X-men to focus on Project Purgatory, so this is going to be like a rainstorm in the desert for me! And it's about her being in Weight Watchers (BEST NOD TO THE 80s EVER) and having a metal leg (THANK YOU FOR FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGING IT) and checking out the sexy ladies! So basically it's amazing. #getit

X-Men: Legacy #241
The conclusion to the Dubai story! Anole + Loa + butt-kicking = AWESOME. I can't wait to see what happens to Luz (is she going to become a cast member for the new book? Is she going to be an X-Ally, thereby mitigating or ending the threat of the Children of the Vault?) and how Magneto and Rogue end their trip together. I figure that they won't hate each other, given that Magneto is getting his own continuing series, but I'm also hoping they don't hook-up. Now that Rogue can control her powers she should go find some GOOD love interests! #Anole!!!

Wildcats #28
So the world is basically exploding around our heroes right now as Gaia tries to kill everything, Ladytron has resurrected a robot army to take on the Spirit of the Earth, and those not on damage control are trying to find a new Doctor quickly who can cure the planet and set things to rights. Midnighter has so far been MIA in this new storyline, but Apollo is at ground zero, fighting to keep Gaia at bay. Hopefully we'll get some character development for him this issue? #notlikely

JSA #44
New creative team!!! Obsidian isn't featured on the cover or the variant cover, so I'm not holding my breath for his inclusion in this title, but it was his last known team affiliation. Hopefully he's included and used, and the spotlight he and his father had last issue wasn't a farewell issue to placate fanboys and fangirls. #fingerscrossed

Wonder Woman #604
AWESOME! Another story arc resolution this week as JMS's first Wonder Woman tale closes out. NewDiana faces down the man who re-wrote reality and turned her world (and ours!) upside-down! I don't usually advocate misandry but, Diana, KICK HIM IN THE BALLS!

Madame Xanadu #28
It's the last of the Five Senses as Xanadu helps a chibopath (see Chew) who's starving from all the stories she's eating! MX continues to be a very entertaining read, though I'm not sure what aspect made it a GLAAD nominee last year... ALSO: next month is THE SIXTH SENSE!!!!!!!!

SuperQueeros! for October 13th, 2010

It's National Coming Out day! So go tell soemone you're a queer-o and then swing by your local comic book store to see which heroes are coming out this week too:

EDIT: KNIGHT AND SQUIRE NUMBER ONE FEATURES A BRITISH, GAY PUNISHER-TYPE CHARACTER NAMED FACEOFF!!! IT'S AWESOME CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daken: Dark Wolverine #2
More intrigue as Mystique gets thrown into the mix this week, along with the revelation that Daken helped send his father to hell (see Wolverine's continuing solo series), makes this title my number one pick this week. With Marvel's two best bi baddies in one book, will they bump and grind before trying to bump each other off? Or is this the start of a beautiful friendship? Only one way to find out! #buyit
ALSO: hot vamp variant cover!

JSA #1 2010
The first of this week's two annuals, this issue makes the list because Obsidian has his own story! I'm so excited to see where they'll go with him! Will we see some of his relationship with Damon, now that it's established that they're still an item? Or will this be more of a smash-and-soliloquize story? The new "Rogue-ing" of Todd and his twin sister Jade (they can't get within twenty feet of each other or the world ends) means that our boy is going to be brimming with angst! Let's hope they make it good!

House Of Mystery Annual #2 Halloween
And the last title out this week is a Trick-or-Treating themed HoM. Not sure if the queer content will be there (Tursig isn't mentioned in the solicit), but given HoM's past and the sheer number of stories in this issue (each of the scary trick-or-treaters who are stopping by the house have a tale to tell, I'm sure!), there's got to be at least one 'mo in the mix! Plus, isn't Halloween the gayest holiday? #queer'ed!

SuperQueeros! for September 29th, 2010

A much better showing this week when compared to last: two clans of ambiguously bi/gay women, two out and proud gay supes, and TORCHWOOD!
Torchwood #3
GARETH DAVID-LLOYD WROTE THE FIRST STORY! Everyone done swooning? Good: The tale involves Ianto (solo adventure?) meeting "a beautiful, deadly woman who may upend his life." So this looks like a prequel, but is it a pre-Lisa-the-Cyberwoman story or post-Cyberwoman? Is Ianto working for Torchwood One, or is this even earlier? There's only one way to find out! #buyit
(Also, Broken Part 3 is the back-up story and I think we are all eager for some inappropriately timed Ianto-Jack flirting!)
Wonder Woman #603
Last month JMS surprised us with one of the most kick-butt Wonder Woman stories I've read in a long while, and this month he adds to the growing mythology by introducing the monstrous Keres to fight Diana. Check out their wiki article here. Very exciting, no? Despite not featuring Anole, Ianto, or any visibly queer characters, this book is one of my most anticipated this month! #excited
X-Men: Legacy #240
The penultimate issue of the Dubai storyline, guest starring Anole! This'll mostly be watching Anole get his butt handed to him by the Children of the Vault until Luz steps in to save 'im (and the rest of the team), but any time in the spotlight is good time in the spotlight! Plus, maybe we'll get to see his camouflage powers interacting with Luz's light manipulation abilities!
JSA #43
Post-JLA crossover, Obsidian and his dad deal with the fall out. I am SO excited to finally get an Obsidian-centric story! Hopefully it will be a good one: I don't really know Obsidian beyond his sexuality, and, especially after putting him through the ringer, I think this book has an opportunity to redefine him as a person and a superhero. Also, maybe we will see something about his boyfriend?????
GCS #16
AWESOME CROSSOVER ALERT! Zatanna and Talia Al Ghul guest star as Catwoman is kidnapped, probably for her knowledge of Batman's identity. The December solicits are hinting at a potential secret tearing apart the Sirens: could this storyline - and Batman's impending return - be the end of this incarnation of the GCS??? It all starts here, folks!

SuperQueeros! for August 18th, 2010

Sorry I missed last week! I was on vacation in Canada where all they sell is thousands of copies of Scott Pilgrim. By the way, did you see the movie? AMAZING, right? (It's AMAZING, guys)

Now to comics!
The Authority: The Lost Year #12
This is it! The final issue of the Autority's Lost Year! They've been hopping from dimension to dimension seeing themselves in many different lights. What will happen now that they're finally going to make it home? Will the Authority have learned from their various dopplegangers, or has this whole thing just been a prelude to their fall? Find out how this story wraps up THIS WEEK!

New Mutants #16
"Inferno Nouveau" continues as we finally meet the new (literal) team of "Hellions" secreted away during the infamous Inferno crossover and raised to do battle with the New Mutants! This is the plot that's going to lead into the Fall of the New Mutants storyline, so expect strife! (But not Stryfe. This is the Heroic Age! Cable has been replaced by X-Man. Who is way cuter.) Also, expect Karma's robotic leg!

JSA #42
It's the penultimate issue of the Starheart arc! The JSA and the JLA have teamed up to stop a possessed Green Lantern, Obsidian, and Doctor Fate (all JSA-ers...) from wreaking havoc on the world's ecosystems, but they've been captured and half-killed as they tried to invade the Starheart's moon base! How will our team get out of this one? And can Starman cure Obsidian with a kiss? (Can we please make that relationship a reality, instead of merely my fever-dream? PLEASE????)

True Blood #2
Story time continues! Watch as the cast of the awesome HBO show tell each other their dark, shameful, and sexy secrets! Includes Lafayette ("La La" to his mom), though it's Sookie's story this week.

SuperQueeros! for July 28th, 2010

The New:
X-Men: Legacy #238
As my personal fav X-person, Anole's comic this week gets top billing. Anole, Loa, Rogue, and Magneto accompany Indra back to India to find out what's got his parents in such a tizzy that they would beg their mutant son to come home. Meanwhile, a young, blonde girl interdimensional alien is about to break into 616 and spice things up even more! And, did I mention?, Anole is in this comic book! #BEST

Justice League of America #47
The JSA + JLA crossover continues in this, the third issue in the five-part crossover. Obsidian (and his dad) are still being controlled by the havoc-wreaking Starheart and it's up to the unaffectable members of the two super-teams to put them down! Hopefully they'll de-brain-wash Obsidian this month; I want to see him and Jade kick some butt together!

The Authority: The Lost Year #11
It's the penultimate issue of the long-awaited, Grant Morrison-planned storyline! The Authority have landed in a universe where they're world-ruling facists. Which, if you recall their take over of America, is a bit more like looking a mirror for The Authority than would make anyone comfortable. Either way, though, it's new Apollo-Midnighter goodness, so pick it up!

The Delayed:
Wildcats #25
Yeah, this didn't end up coming out the week I wrote about it. So pick it up this week!

The Questioning:
Detective Comics #827
So the solicit for last month told us that "Batwoman and the Question" were coming back this month. But the solicit for DC 827 is CLEARLY for a story about Batman, and there is no mention whatsoever about a Question (+ Batwoman?) back-up. It's still on my pull list, so I'll let you know if our two fav caped lesbian exes make an appearance or not.
Detective is all Batman! Not even a Question follow-up! BUT Renee isn't sitting on her butt! She pays a visit to Saint Walker in this month's Green Lantern, #56!!!!

Wonder Woman #601
If Gail Simone isn't writing Wonder Woman, is it still a story about a superhero from an island of lesbians? Especially if that island paradise was raped, razed, and turned to rubble? And is that elephant-riding hottie Achilles still alive/a homo? Only one way to find out, I guess! #Readon!

Gotham City Sirens #14
One of the best series to come out of the death of Batman, the GCS are facing potential break-up as a result of the meddling of their antagonists! Will these three questionably-close femme fatales break-up or make-up? And is that Talia Al-Ghul on the cover of next month's issue...? #spoilers?

Madame Xanadu #25
HEARING! The MX storyline about the senses continues as Spencer, a man gifted with extraordinary hearing, begins to pick up on some not-very-nice voices. Angry voices. Lust-filled voices. One might even say... demon voices! Can Madame Xanadu intervene in time or will Spencer be lost to the din in his head?

SuperQueeros! for July 21st, 2010

Scott Pilgrim Volume 6, Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour, came out today!!!! Did you go to a midnight release party? I totally did! And then I stayed up and read Volume 6!!! I do not remember Scott Pilgrim being so much about pictures. And declarative sentences. But I guess you can't be asking questions all the time! Or talking! Also, BLOOD.

Anyway, I loved it and it was cute and there were 4 (FOUR!!) gays, two of whom TOTES MADE OUT, so SP6 gets ALL THE THUMBS UP!!

Oh, and some other comics come out this week?

New Mutants #15
Karma has a sexy new leg!!!

"I thought you said was going to be sexy!?" "This is sexy!!"
- exchange between Karma, the lesbian-sexual, and Box, the machine-sexual???, in Second Coming #2

Also, more demons are coming to kill everybody! Because Inferno was an atrocity whose sins are going to be revisited on an unsuspecting readership team of New Mutants!! Oh, and Moonstar and Cannonball are totally making out? And Sunspot and Magma are totes an item now? So Zeb Wells likes bad 80's crossovers and... 'shipping? I just hope that all the romance hasn't gotten in the way of his writing some bad-as guns into Karma's machine-leg!

X-Factor #207
Something, something HELA!! Rictor and Shatterstar, sleuthing, butt-kicking boyfriends, and some other people get hired by the Viking Goddess of Hel to do... something! And evidently it will have the internet all atwitter and the twitter all abuzz and the googlebuzz all a-internet because something MAJOR CRAZY FREAKY is about to go down on the last page! So go buy it! (actually do: Peter David is pretty much known as "The Delivery Man" because he always #delivers)

Justice Society of America #41
Obsidian is still crazy! Starman just got his heart crystal ripped out! Is he dead??? Will he be able to be resuscitated?? Will the Starheart drop it's hold on Obsidian long enough for him to sexily save the blue, bi alien hero? Will the totally make out, despite the chaotic havoc around them?? Hopefully the answer to all these questions will be YES, but the only way you'll know for sure is to pick up JSA #41!!

Dark Wolverine #88
Daken vs FrankenCastle! The match-up that killed Frank Castle will probs play into his resurrection (see Shadowland previews/comic book history 101), and here's where it all goes down! Also, given the title's history, maybe there will be some Punisher-on-Wolvie making out! (plz?)

True Blood #1

Something something... all the cool TV show characters tell their origin stories told... something... Alan Ball gets paid... something something LAFAYETTE!!!!!! That last word is the only one you need to know. This is gonna be awesome (hooker)!

SuperQueeros! for June 30th, 2010

June has one more new comic book day! I know my bank account is groaning under the strain, but for a fifth Wednesday there is a lot of cool queer comic-ness!

Justice League of America #46
Obsidian is alive and kicking in part 1 of the JLA/JSA crossover, though he has been turned evil by the Starheart (?) and his helping his dad who is dressed like Parallax (??) to kick the collective asses of his resurrected sister, the new, super-young JLA, and a cute, blue, pansexual Starman ( :-D... I mean "???"). So this title is amazing. Even if it doesn't make any sense. #whocares!

Justice Society of America #40
Speaking of not making any sense, after reading about Obsidian being an evil pawn of evil beating up his teammates, why not pick up the book that has Obsidian trapped as an egg while his teammates try to rescue him in the (FINALLY) final chapter of the JSA's Fourth Reich storyline?? Some old teammate is going to come help JSA at the last minute, so it is either Mr. Terrific, Obsidian, or both. I am opting for Mr. T, but also hoping that Obsidian will do some butt-kicking after he gets... hatched. #wtf
EDIT: Obsidian is totally hatched from egg-prison by page 4 and he both NARRATES and KICKS BUTT!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder Woman #600
SUPER AWESOME WONDER WOMAN CELEBRATION!!!!! I don't know if you picked up Batman #700, but I thought that, as a one-shot, it was a brilliant tribute to the character that touched upon his ubiquity in the human zeitgeist and the essential immortality he has so recently derived from his departure from his Bruce Wayne host. But that's Batman, and this is about Wonder Woman!! Let's hope for some cute lesbianism and awesome gods and a story just as good for the DCU's hardest hitting heroine!!!

Madame Xanadu #24
The senses!!!! This issue sees the start of a senses-themed arc in Xanadu. I'm really excited for the final issue as it explores Xanadu's pre-cognitive sense, but first we have to tromp through the other five senses! First up is "sight" as a woman who sees people morph into grotesqueries on the subway seeks help from our eponymous heroine. #alsocool

Gotham City Sirens #13
One year of Sirens! While the other Sirens are still on the dole, Ivy's been busy this year! She's got a 9-5 job, an office romance, and an old ally trying to sabotage it all! But what's with Selina chained to the Pieta on the cover??? Find out as the hottest of the Post-Bruce Wayne comics enters its second year! #celebrate

SuperQueeros! for March 24th

Each week I find the queers in comics and let you know who's gaily kicking @$$! This week:

Wildcats #21
The Wildcats are on the fence as their first post-Apollo and Midnighter story finishes up. Based on the preview, if Apollo isn't the deus ex machina, at least he'll get a cameo. Based on the solicits, however, the writer wants to kill off some people: hopefully Apollo isn't going to become a death-for-Midnighter's-character-development. #candysouthern

X-Factor #203
M and Guido are going on a trip to smack some betches down. No Rictor and Shatterstar this issue, but expect a whole lot of smack down and associated awesome. Also, according to the solicits, we'll "never guess who's behind it all". I choose Penance, based on the dream sequence that starts the issue and the fact that Peter David can do awesome things with characters whose only purpose was to act as plot devices.

Corner of the Queer Eye:
Uncanny X-Men #522
Though not prominently featuring queers, UXM always has quite a few gay cameos. Much more importantly, though, KITTY COMES BACK THIS ISSUE!!!! #buyit

Justice Society of America #37
We might get to see the Obsidian Egg this issue! The baddies are turning on their power-negating engine that they made out of my favourite hapless gay security guard/superhero. All in all, a nice story that doesn't seem to have any (awake) queer characters only because the gay guy's dad saddled him with trope-based abilities. #InfiniteEnergyPowers

Monday, February 22, 2010

SuperQueeros! for February 24th

What an awesome day in the life of Queer comics! Don't know which titles will be featuring homos in spandex? Well here's the (extensive, though not necessarily complete) list!

Wildcats #20

Midnighter isn't gone, he just changed teams!!! (To the Wildcats. He's still a queer-mo.) I was pissed when, post-World's End, Midnight was booted from The Authority, but it's not that he was dropped as a character, he was just traded to the Wildcats because his beau is still extra-terrrestrial atm! Sorry for any slandering I've done, Wildstorm! Now pleeeeease rescue Apollo, okay?

X-Factor #202

Just like the cover promises, it's pansexual Shatterstar versus Top Ten Villain Doctor Doom! With M and the Thing! Can this get better? What's that, Valeria Richards is in this issue??? Oh DAAAAAAAAAAAANG this is gonna be good! (Plus maybe will get some more answers about Layla's involvement in all this!)

Batman and Robin #9

The final issue in the three part Batwoman crossover! Kathy Kane is gonna rise again, thanks to the Lazarus pit buried in the rubble that crushed her to death, but will she be the same Batwoman we've come to know and love, or something more twisted, more feral, more insane, and more awesome?

Nation X #3

ANOLE ISSUE!!!!! With Danger and Armor!!! This issue is a must-have for fans of the green-spiked lizard-boy and for anyone who loves short, fast, self-contained, good stories. These tie-ins are fast becoming my favourite X-title thanks to their diverse cast of characters and diverse-er creative crews!

Dark Wolverine #83

Seige! Killing Osbourne! Achieving his destiny as a villain! I think all of these things are in this issue, plus a bisexual sociopath. Who needs okcupid when this title exists???

Wonder Woman #41

Part Two of the Crows storyline finds Wonder Woman fighting Power Girl and every sane person in the world buying this book. Punching, cleavage, and knocking down buildings. The only thing that could make it more perfect is if it were written by Gail Simone. Oh, wait!

Gotham City Sirens #9

The Riddler's back this week, making this issue the most "Questioning" title in all of comic-dom. Are any of these characters still queer?

JSA #36

Obsidian's name was in this week's solicits, meaning that Bill hasn't forgotten about him, and hopefully meaning that we'll get some rescuing action ASAP! But I think Obby is still an egg, atm...

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Superqueeros! for January 27th, 2010

Every Wednesday boys stumble over themselves to ask me what SuperQueeros! is and I say, "It's my weekly round up of what queer-inclusive comics are hitting the stands near you. If you think I've missed any, leave a comment and let me know." Then they swoon. ;)

Detective Comics #861

For the next three months we have double the Batwoman as she and Dick crossover into each other's titles. Detective promises to be as freaky as ever when Batman and Batwoman team up to stop a Cutter. The covers are still J.H. Williams III, but the interiors are going to be another artist because J.H. is working on the pages for Batwoman #1!!! So he's not gone, just promoted.

Batman and Robin #7

Finally, I get to write about Morrison's Batman and Robin! I look forward to this title every month, and now that Morrison's taking his stab at Batwoman, I'm twice as chuffed! My only reservation is that Morrison showed a strange POV on queer parents when he gave Jenny Quantum/Quarks (I can't keep them straight) the line "Uncle Apollo." YOU DON'T CALL ADOPTIVE PARENTS "UNCLE", GRANT. Hopefully that's all behind him and he can bring us a Batwoman as awesome as the first part of this series. EDIT: Morrison calls his take on Kate Kane, "the acid bubblegum version of the character."

X-Factor #201

Yay! Any day with a new X-Factor issue is a good day, and any day with Layla Miller teaming up with Dr. Doom and Mr. Fantastic to kidnap the Invisible Woman and take down X-Factor is AWESOME. I wonder how a fight between superqueero Shatterstar and Layla would go? Would even he lose to the woman who "knows stuff"? And, if she's the Layla Miller who gave all her memories to her past self, doesn't that mean that she shouldn't know stuff any more? For that matter, what has grown-up Layla been DOING since Decimation??? #answers!

X-Men: Legacy #232

Rogue + Magneto = OTP? That equation has always confused me, but there are a set of writers who thinks it's super-logical, duuuh. Judging from the cover and the preview, Carey's going to be taking his stab at this (arguably) classic pairing, but let's hope he doesn't skimp on the inclusion of Destiny in this story! Rogue's adopted mom would probably have a thing or two to say to Rogue about her choice in paramours. However, give that Mystique's age is both greater than Destiny's and undetermined, that advice might not be what we'd assume.

Wonder Woman #40

New Wonder Woman storyline! The cover looks like it features the five children of Ares (simply because there are five of them, not because they look particularly Ares-ian), so it'll be interesting to see if they are and, if so, what Simone's take on them will be. Traditionally they would be the children of Ares and Aphrodite; what would that mean for Wonder Woman, who is both Aphrodite's Violet Lantern and the perennial enemy of Ares? Simone is set to raise some interesting questions, she's been revitalizing this title to critical acclaim, the past few issues have been uber queer-inclusive, and, since this is a new storyline, it's a great time to pick up the title. Plus, an investment in any Simone title is an investment in shirtless hunks fighting, so it's not like there's a "lose" scenario here. #fabulous #fierce #fiiiiine

Gotham City Sirens #8

Oh GCS! You are the tease of all supervillain comics! The Riddler started out his life in comics as a man driven over the edge because he was a closet-case, but who knows if his current incarnation has any queerings of his sexuality. The similarly ambiguously sapphic Sirens are starting up a Riddler team-up/double-cross/something-messy, so jump in now to see what develops. If nothing else, it's four of the Bat's greatest villains all in one title. #win

Justice Society of America #35
JSA makes the list because Bill Willingham is a cool guy (on his twitter account), the preview really grabbed my attention, and eventually the team is going to save Obsidian and he'll become an active member. So if you want to follow this title's whole Obsidian-inclusive run, you technically want to grab this issue. Even though he's still an egg.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Superqueeros! for November 18th, 2009

Each week we bring you a summary of which new comics are featuring LGBT(etc.) characters! Now, I'm no Amadeus Cho, so I may miss one or two. If you spot an omission, please let me know in the comments section and I'll correct it!

Dark Avengers #11

It's a double header this week! It turns out that Victoria Hand, the Maria Hill of H.A.M.M.E.R., is a HUGE LESBIAN! And a former accountant! Look out, Mystique, you've got competition for my favourite female-identified supervillain! The other header is Daken! Does ink really do it for you guys? I think Wolvie II might have to pheremone me to get me into bed. Though he is really good looking for a 60-year-old... Oh, and Norman Osbourne is going crazy or something. Like we say on tweeter, #boring.

The Authority: Lost Year #3 (of 12)

FINALLY, someone is wrapping up Grant Morrison's two-issue "run" on The Authority. What, you don't remember that? Yeah, that's cause it was like two years ago, with at least 6 months between issues. And the first issue didn't even have The Authority IN it. Not even Midnighter! Wildstorm reprinted those first two issues last week as a "reader", so if you don't have the first two issues, pick it up and jump on board. Apollo + Midnighter = Always Good.

Mighty Avengers #31

EVERY AVENGER EVER!! FIGHTING!! Look for some Billy/Teddy cameos as the Unspoken/Loki storyline comes to a head. Did I mention how pissed I am that Loki's a boy again? Gender-swap is not just for fanfiction, okay Marvel?

JSA 80-Page Giant #1

Wow! 80 pages! I wonder how many of them will have Obsidian on them?! Or even in the background! Please?
Seriously, though, DC, if he's an inanimate object, does he really count as part of the team?

And, just because NPH is the opposite of JSA-induced invisibility...
Dr. Horrible #1 !!!!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

SuperQueeros! for October 28th, 2009

Each week we bring you a summary of which new comics are featuring LGBT(etc.) characters! Now, I'm no Kiden Nixon, so I may miss one or two due to time constraints. If you spot an omission, please let me know in the comments section and I'll correct it tout de suite!

Correction from Last Week:
Solicits show that Gen13 #32 is actually out this week. Check last week's SuperQueeros! for a teaser.

X-Factor #50
Ricstar = OTP! Rictor may have been my first superhero crush, but Peter David has my heart now. This is the 50th issue of his groundbreaking series, but never be afraid to pick this book up: David's recaps are the best in the biz! Plus, Shatterstar just displayed some interesting new powers. You know, besides HOT MAN-ON-MAN ACTION. ;)

Detective Comics #858
The Batwoman origin story starts here! If you aren't hip to the newest, coolest lesbian in comics now is the time to jump on the bandwagon. Kate Kane is to the Bat Family as Six is to a Centurion model Cylon: hotter, smarter, more gendered, and the future.

Dark Reign: Young Avengers #5 (of 5)
The Young Masters are about to cement their place as future Marvel supervillains. But first, a huge fight! If the cover isn't hint enough, this issue is going to end with pain and rubble, both physical and emotional. Plus, did Wiccan and Enchantress... shift his Kinsey score? The answer is, no doubt, contained within these pages! Plus Teddy!

New Mutants #6
Cypher is back! As a technologically-reanimated zombie! And what's going to happen in Shan's murder storyline? Necrosha starts here!! Or four months ago in Blackest Night #0!!! (But seriously, Karma is awesome)

All this and!!:

Gotham City Sirens #5
Harley was rescued from the clutches of Hush just in time for her own issue! Plus, the cover combines with those for issues 6 and 7 to make a tryptich masterpiece!

Justice Society of America #32
Obsidian is still an egg.
