Batman Eternal is wrapping up their many story threads, starting in this week's issue, #50. There have been some queer characters in this title, so I'm assuming that there will be some cameos. Storm #9 comes out this week, and it features one of the best X-team-ups: Storm and Gambit, being all theives and stuff! So, no queeros, but still a good comic.

The world is DOOMED! Or, at least that's my prediction with all these Convergence solicits floating around... That and the fact that the Earth is getting totally eaten by Apokolips. That's also pretty damning.

With Harley about to be crushed by the Daily Planet, will the team be able to keep its roster from shrinking even further? Well, the solicit says that there is about to be a superhuman revolt, so it seems like a good time and a great place to find some new recruits!

Man, it sure stank that Daken had a new arm and eye for, like, one beer before Fang took it all away again! And Mystique's plan has sure been put on hold while Fang plays with the Wolvies. Speaking of, Fang and newly-good Sabretooth go off to have some character developing adventures this issue. Meanwhile, Ogun and Sharp square off for control of their shared body! Plus, Fantomelle and Culpepper's continue their adventures in thieving.

Huntress and her grandpa, Batman, go to talk to Green arrow. Meanwhile, the unfridging of Green Arrow's boyfriend Sam was just un-undone when Alan absorbed his fiancé into himself so that he could become the Earth-2 version of the White Lantern and destroy Apokolips. Woo hoo?

How do you beat the unbeatable? In a fictional universe whose physical mechanics are dictated by philosophy and whose population are routinely stuck in circular time loops, is anyone truly unbeatable? Conversely, but equally valid, is anyone truly beatable? Is this story unbeatable, or has it already been beaten by its dependence on a multi-volume storyline that is obscured by a non-linear narrative? Are we as comic readers, and therefore comic "real"-izers, beatable? Is a one word solicit unbeatable, or is there a way to extract a paragraph's worth of nonsense from a single word and some stern-faced cover art? In this issue of Morning Glories, absolutely none of these questions will be answered. But we may get hot gay French guys playing Towerball and/or sacrificing a girl.

It's time for Babs to hit the books! But just as classes get going, Batgirl has to tangle with the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen of katana-wielding motorcycle assassins! (They have their own clothing line. And one of them is married to an older Frenchman. I assume. Because they're twins.)

Earth 2: Worlds End #6

The fight against the forces of Apokolips continues! Man, once you un-bottle those BoomTubes, they just don't stop vomiting hell-spawn onto your doorstep!

And now for some cool stuff I saw in my research: Kitchen #1 is an entry in the gangster genre, but for this mob, all the heads are women. Klarion #2 has a kiss that "changes everything" and, even though I'm 99.9% sure it's from a lady, I'm crossing my fingers so much for a gentleman-demon! All New Ultimates #10 has a Bombshell cover, Batman Eternal #32 gets back to The Spoiler, and Thor #2 continues the awesome new direction for the series! Oh, and speaking of diversity in comics, All New Captain America #1 is out this week! And Sam's sidekick is Nomad!

It's Kevin Keller's first encounter with Jingles, Riverdale's tiniest elf with the biggest attitude! Of course, since I only started reading Archie because of Kevin, it's mine too, so I'm relying entirely on the solicit for that judgment of Jingles. Novice though I am, I'm pretty certain that Jingle's annoying 'tude is big enough to put Kevin's life - or at least his pre-Thanksgiving Christmas issue - in danger!
