SuperQueeros! for October 28, 2015

Jinkies, Wiccan and Hulkling are going on a MCU tour this week... But more importantly, Alysia Yeoh is getting MARRIED! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #45

Alysia's getting married! But why did she invite Grayson? And who will be crashing this wedding?

New Avengers #2

Will Wiccan and Hulkling survive their trip to France? Will Hawkguy be able to save his new teammates? Will sunspot just stay on his island the whole time?

Squirrel Girl #1

Only the second number one this year! In her new beginning Squirrel Girl pulls in a brand new cast of fellow Avengers, including Wiccan and Hulkling!

House of M #4

Wiccan and family are brawling for the fate of the House of M! Will they be able to overcome the entirety of the Atlantean army?

Adventure Time 2015 Spooktacular #1

Just in time for Halloween, Marceline goes on a solo adventure!

Chew #51

Time year time jump! The beginning of the end of the Chew saga begins now!

New Suicide Squad #13

Recovery issue! The team is putting itself back together and raising questions about The Question.

Justice League 3001 #5

A new Batman crunches into town, heralding the arrival of a brand new baddie!

SuperQueeros! for December 10, 2014

Is it Ragnarok-ing outside? Rachel Rising + Afterlife with Archie bring the zombies, Darkseid lands on Earth 2, and Batgirl wears sequins. But what do these plagues portend? Oh, Rachel Grey is visiting the Shi'ar empire? Yeah, that explains it. SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Rachel Rising #30

Rachel confronts her killer this issue! Whoever writes the solicits for this series needs to be consulted though. They tease that she might not make it out alive. Spoilers, dude: She already didn't. #zombienarratives

Afterlife with Archie #7

Speaking of zombie heroines, things aren't looking too good for Betty. This issue starts the series' second story arc: "Betty, RIP". Fingers crossed, Ms. Cooper!

Batgirl #37

Batgirl has an impersonator! But... why?

Earth 2: Worlds End #10

DARKSEID!

The October Faction #3

The kids hatch a plot to get their dad off the sofa and back into the monster hunting biz!

Amazing X-Men #14

Mystique and her son have one of their famous heart-to-hearts.

X-Force #13

Meme was Hope the whole time?! Please let this cover be deceiving!

X-Men #22

It's the last issue in the space arc. Will Rachel genocide the species who murdered her family (excluding her time-displaced mother and siblings)? Will the Shi'ar realize that preemptive murder to prevent your own extinction is actually a self-fulfilling prophecy?

SuperQueeros! for November 12th, 2014

It's a pretty light week for superqueeros, so I'm going to spotlight some interesting titles too. But "light" does not mean "totally bereft"; we do have a couple of... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #36

It's time for Babs to hit the books! But just as classes get going, Batgirl has to tangle with the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen of katana-wielding motorcycle assassins! (They have their own clothing line. And one of them is married to an older Frenchman. I assume. Because they're twins.)

Earth 2: Worlds End #6

The fight against the forces of Apokolips continues! Man, once you un-bottle those BoomTubes, they just don't stop vomiting hell-spawn onto your doorstep!

And now for some cool stuff I saw in my research: Kitchen #1 is an entry in the gangster genre, but for this mob, all the heads are women. Klarion #2 has a kiss that "changes everything" and, even though I'm 99.9% sure it's from a lady, I'm crossing my fingers so much for a gentleman-demon! All New Ultimates #10 has a Bombshell cover, Batman Eternal #32 gets back to The Spoiler, and Thor #2 continues the awesome new direction for the series! Oh, and speaking of diversity in comics, All New Captain America #1 is out this week! And Sam's sidekick is Nomad!

SuperQueeros! for October 6th, 2014

DC takes the top spot this week with Batgirl and Earth 2! Plus, none of the characters are Batman's wife! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #35

Batgirl may be getting rebooted (she literally has new boots), but that doesn't mean that Alysia is going to fade into the background! Her activism is already tying her into the main storyline so, even if she isn't rooming with Babs anymore, Yeoh is here to stay!

Earth 2 #27 and Earth 2: Future's End #1

I'm lumping these two issues together because the solicits sound almost exactly the same... Based on the covers I'd say there's a granddaughter-grandpa fight, then the Green Lantern makes a cameo in order to tell the Huntress and NuBatman to stop their family feuding and help fight some Parademons. And since it's Futures End, I'm assuming everyone gets turned into robots?

X-Force #10

The team meets up with a Character of the Month from X-Men: Legacy #300. I have totally forgotten this "ForgetMeNot" person...

Archie #660

Archie has four dates on the same night! And the solicit promises "cameos galore", which I take to mean "Yes, we shoehorned Kevin into this storyline about straight white male promiscuity." Which actually does make we want to read this issue, even if I just read the issue.

There's also a whole bunch of awesome horror comics coming out this week, including (The Chilling Adventures of) Sabrina #1, a dark take on the Sabrina mythology in the vain of Afterlife with Archie, and Klarion #1, the New 52's ongoing series about the witch-boy guardian of chaos himself. I don't know if there are any queer characters in ANY of them, but Sabrina is written by IRL superqueero Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and I've always thought that being a Witch Boy is gender non-conformist.

SuperQueeros! for September 10, 2014

This week brings back people you thought long gone. People and... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl: Future's End #1

Simone gives us a peek at her future for Babs, as well as for Alysia and James Gordon. But after Batgirl's bae gets fridged and she quits the superhero game, who will carry on her legacy? And will they be able to draw her out of retirement?

Morning Glories #40

It looks like Jade is back!

Prophet Strike File #1

Get the low down on all the characters in the Prophet-verse, including John Ka!

Plus, X-Force #9 sees Psylocke and her team take on MI-13, Betty and Veronica #272 sees the girls leave Riverdale and their GBF, Kevin, behind, and Ms. Marvel dogsits!

SuperQueeros! for August 13th, 2014

One last hurrah for Simone's Batgirl, the Alpha Flight teams up with Northstar's new team, and is there romance in the (dungeon) air for Bloodstone?! ... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #34

It's Batgirl's last issue before she moves out of her apartment and goes back to school! (Doesn't she already have one doctorate? Greedy!) Anyway, it seems like this may be our last chance to catch some Alysia Yeoh for a while, so pick up the issue to say farewell!

Amazing X-Men #10

Northstar's in trouble, and he thinks of Kyle! Tres cute, and the next best thing to panel time for our favorite x-spouse. Let's see if Jean-Paul and the rest of the Amazing X-Men can help clean up the Wendigo epidemic in the Great White North now that Jean-Paul's old team, Alpha Flight, is saddling up to lend a hand!

Avengers Undercover #8

Three months have passed since the last issue and... is that a kiss I see for Bloodstone?! Villainous romance, <3 div="">

X-Force #8

Psylocke and the team run afoul of M13 and Pete Wisdom.

X-Men #18

Psylocke and the team head to space for some S.W.O.R.D. and Shi'ar time. Psylocke sure keeps a busy schedule...

SuperQueeros! for July 9th, 2014

Wendigo, Knightfall, Domino,... and Alex Wilder?! Yup, it's old friends returning (from the dead) this week in... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #33

Knightfall is getting all the criminals out of Gotham. So why is Batgirl trying to stop her? And will activists like Alysia be allowed to stay?

Avengers Undercover #7

Alex Wilder is back!!! Is this Nico's Achille's heel of EVIL?
 Lumberjanes #4

The girls continue their quest for answers!

Original Sins #3

The continuation of Hulkling and Prodigy's story!

Amazing X-Men #9

The crew goes to save Wolverine from the Wendigos!

X-Force #7

Domino joins the team!

SuperQueeros! for June 11th, 2014

Things seem to have quieted down in the land of superqueeroics these days. Luckily for us, three of our most recently queer-inclusive titles are out this week! Plus, the Young Avengers return! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Lumberjanes #3

Our girls hair-raising adventures continue, and I'm starting to track them now that I've read that Mal and Molly are more than mates! This month: how will our 'janes fare against the Genteel Boys Camp on Field Day!?

Original Sins #1
Hulkling, Prodigy, and Marvel Boy all get caught up in the tumult of Original Sin in this series penned by Ryan North of Dinosaur Comics and Adventure Time's comic book!

Batgirl #32

With Babs' personal life being monitored, how will Alysia help her roommate protect her vigilante identity?

Uncanny X-Men Special #1

It's a big crossover with Nova and Iron Man! What do you think Morph will look like when he takes on some Tony Stark?

SuperQueeros! for May 14, 2014

Psylocke and Bloodstone have to deal with changes of fortune, and can the Riverdale 'queeros squeeze into this week's stories? We'll find out in this week's... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Life with Archie #35

Midge is having a baby! And Veronica's legal woes continue! Can Kevin find a way to help his bestie? Will Clay, his hubbie, end up delivering Midge's baby? Plus, now that there are real gays in Riverdale, the coded gays can get straight-married: Jughead ties the knot!

SuperQueeros! for April 9th, 2014

Lumberjanes, All-New Ultimates, Batgirl... There are a lot of awesome comics coming out this week, but Avengers Undercover may be the only one with any... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Avengers Undercover #2

Remember when Wiccan, Hulkling, Karolina, and Xavin were all captured in that Runaways/Young Avengers crossover? And then that time Hulkling was held hostage by Mother? And all those stories with Karma? 'Queeros seem to be the new damsels in distress, and Bloodstone is latest in the line of gays getting gang-pressed into the evil orders. But gosh, does he get to smash a LOT of tanks for a hostage! And who knows, maybe by the end of this saga he'll have gotten even more angst-y and have a higher degree of control over his powers! Oh, and maybe Son of Satan swings both ways and we'll get an allegory for relationships with controlling boyfriends!

SuperQueeros! for March 12th, 2014

Bloodstone is baaack! Plus we get some more Psylocke in X-Force and Batgirl is back fighting her slayer! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Avengers Undercover #1

Bloodstone is BAAACK! Along with Deathlocket, Hazmat, Anachronism, and Cammi (a.k.a., the best characters in Avengers Arena who weren't straight-up villains ['Sup, Apex?]) , Bloodstone is going undercover to take down the Masters of Evil from the inside. But will these PTSD-afflicted kids be able to walk the line between looking evil and being evil without going off the deep end? And what will happen when they form new bonds with the truly evil members? Is it more heroic to betray a villain, or protect a friend??

Oh, and what are the dating prospects like?

SuperQueeros! for February 12th, 2014

I think there might only one be 'queero this week in comics... But never fear, there's a new number one, a favorite artist's debut, and the next installment in a queer-inclusive title here on... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

X-Force #1

Following the events of "Hope stabbing Bishop before forgiving him for trying to murder her a lot," Psylocke and Cable have united their X-Forces and recruited Marrow and a hover-box with a holographic head (A remote-location Dr. Nemesis drone? Or Forge? Or even Box? OR MAYBE A SOUPED UP MARTHA JOHANSSON????). Now they're ready to be the Secret Avengers of the X-Men! Who will they beat up first???

SuperQueeros! for January 15th, 2014

The wave of Marvel NOW! is sweeping one X-Force out, the Rat Queens face a brand new enemy - consequences!!, and Batgirl goes Goth(topia)! The world is certain topsy-turvy this week for... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Uncanny X-Force #16

It's the moment we knew was coming ever since the launch of TWO X-Force titles: The Ultimate Showdown!!! But with a team that barely knows each other's  first names, how does Storm expect to pull one over on the father-daughter tag-team of Hope and Cable??? I mean, besides by being her awesome self, that is.

SuperQueeros! for December 11th, 2013

The 'queeros are a little spotty this week, but for Whovians in the audience, have I got the book for you! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

SuperQueeros! for October 9th, 2013

I declare this week the week of amazing covers! Take a look inside to see the duds sported by this week's... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Astonishing X-Men #68

The end of an era!!!! Liu bids adieu to her seminal line-up (a veritable rainbow-squad of X-men!) in this, the final issue of Astonishing X-Men! But with X-Factor ending on hints of a reboot, can we hope that Northstar, Kyle, Karma, and Liu will get the same treatment and be teaming up again soon under a new #1??? We can only wish (loudly and with our wallets)!!!

Afterlife with Archie #1

Oh my gosh, I am so excited for this! I'm not sure if Kevin Keller will be included (They'd be fools not to! FOOLS!), but "Riverdale meets Walking Dead"is the most brilliant thing since Kevin met Clay! Fingers crossed that the follow through is as wicked-cool as the premise!

SuperQueeros! for August 14th, 2013

It's the last issue of Demon Knights! Be sure to check out how it all ends when you pick up the latest issue of Supurbia, Batgirl, Fearless Defenders, and 4 other comics featuring your favorite... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Supurbia #10

With Sovereign out of commission and Eve cowed by guilt, the team has lost it's heart and it's... bazooka? Anyway, they're going to have to pull together when they split up to rescue the kidnapped Zari and the captured Agent Twilight! And what can Hella do now that she's trapped back in her ex-boyfriend's clutches? #kickbutt

SuperQueeros! for July 10th, 2013

DC's New 52 DOMINATED last week's SuperQueeros. Think the other companies can rally the troops this week? SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Batgirl #22

Now that Babs has decided to hang up her cape, maybe will get some page-time for Geeks Out's favorite new superqueero, Alysia Yeoh!

Supurbia #9

This is a jumping on point. So, what have you missed? Well,...

1. Hella climbed out of her hole of self-loathing to save Zari and Sara from becoming Evil Witches 2: The Next Generation, but he butt-head of an ex, Hector, only let her save one of them!
2. She picked Sara, the one least resistive to his corruption and also the Squib daughter of Batu (Think Wonder Woman + Barda).
3. But with Hector's evil magic having reduced our Superman/Hyperion allegory (and Hella's current boo), to a sweaty, wonkily-powered mess, who can take out this Hell-adjacent ex and save Zari???
4. Also: Has Night Fox gotten back from whining and lounging at his parents' intergalactic estate? Isn't his boy toy, Agent Twilight, still being held captive by evil robots?? Oh, and speaking Robo-Ruth, this is all part of her master plan, right????

Avengers Arena #12

NICO ISN'T DEAD!!!! I guess that's one of the blessings of superqueero physics: it's main operating principle is drama. Anyway,  now that her corpse has been reanimated, it looks like Nico is powered-up and looking for some vengeance! Hopefully superqueero Bloodstone won't end up a casualty in her wake!

Fearless Defenders #6

Valkyrie is the evil Doom Maiden of Rage!!! In addition to vomiting blood, it looks like she's also going to be ending the life of one of the superheroes who showed up to help her stop the Doom Maidens. But will it be her love interest, Dr. Annabelle Riggs? And will this start an Orphean journey to retrieve her from Hela's kingdom? Oh, and can they pick up Howlett's bf while they're down there?

Astonishing X-men #64

Bobby Drake is SNOWMAGGEDON! With NYC and much of the Northern Hemisphere covered in snow, is this the dawn of a new Age of Apocalypse, or can Iceman's teammates and exes, including superqueeros Karma, Northstar, and Mystique, save Bobby from a fate worse than Angel's?

Young Avengers #7

Now that they're exiled from Earth until Wiccan's charm from issue #1 can be reversed, the YA are picking up where Noh-Varr (winner of the Capie for best new costume design) and Hawkeye left off: ridding the universe of Skrull thugs! But how will Hulkling feel about bagging boys whose race he shares, even if he's also half Kree? And, whatever way it is, will we get to see some cuteness from his Capie award-winning relationship?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9: Freefall #23

Willow and her friends are lagging behind the Siphon and his Slayer. Will they be able to stop him from reversing the course of time, or is the world destined to regain its magic and rewrite the last 22 issues? And what's Billy been getting up to back home?

Demon Knights #22

Vandal Savage has turned the giants to his side (of course...) and now he's on the attack! Will the Shining Knight and zher girlfriend Exoristos be able to protect the Grail????

Chew #35

I covered this issue on June 26th, but it definitely didn't come out digitally then. Check for it at you local comic book store this week, though!

SuperQueeros! for June 12th, 2013

When it rains, it pours. And to get me through all the rain here in ATL, 'queero comics are pouring out this week! SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

EDIT: Supurbia 8 came out this week too!!!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9: Freefall #22

Buffy, Willow, and Xander are reunited and off on an adventure! The only problem is that one of them is a traitor, and the little adventure they're undertaking is mostly just a distraction so that the baddies can do some deviousness! That is, unless that sentient red balloon is hella powerful...

Demon Knights #21

Vandal and Etrigan with the Holy Grail?! That can't be good! What will vampire Ystin have to say about that, I wonder...

Wolverine and the X-Men #31

The lil' Hellfire babies have started their own academy for kidnapped X-men! Luckily they made primo hiring choices and Mystique is leading the staff! (She is sure wearing a lot of hats these days!)

Astonishing X-Men #63

The Saga of Bobby's Exes continues (including Mystique! She has more books this week than Wolvie...) as we count down to Evil Iceman!

Batgirl #21

Alysia Yeoh wasn't in the last issue, but the cray-mazing Puppeteer was, and her psychotic murder spree continues this week!

A Distant Soil #40

Liana has lost control of her abilities and is poised to cause Phoenix-level destruction! Can she rein in her psychic destruction?

Artifacts #28

A lot of the characters in this book are super Catholic... hopefully they still have room for Finch in the narrative!

SuperQueeros! for May 15th, 2013

With four critically acclaimed titles, this week may be meagre, but it's amazing books only! Also, there's a lot of blood on every cover... SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, and queer in comics today!

Batwoman #20

The solicit is short and sweet: Batwoman is getting played. And the game is Bat vs Bat. But with the talking skeleton-man turning from Lawful Neutral to Puppeteering Evil, what role could be in store for his prisoner, Kate's sister Alice? And will his field agent, Chase, be able to stomach it?

X-Factor #256

M IS DEAD! (So I guess we know who will hold the throne of Hell by the end of this issue...) Normally I'd be psyched at M's power-up, and we ALL know that Peter David is basically my author idol, but this smacks of White Crown ascension: a promotion to CEO of the company's BFN division. And with Banshee's ascension to banshee occurring less than a year ago, this whole thing smacks of some sort of hybrid between Whedon's kill-a-character ethos and reckless disregard for female comic characters. Basically, I'm readying my ire. David, don't eff this up!

Batgirl #20

Last month Gail Simone gave us a new trans character in Batgirl's roommate, Alysia! Let's hope that this month our newest 'queero gets some story!

Wonder Woman #20

Err'body in this book gonna betray you. #Diana'sLesson
