Justice League 3001 #2

Okay, I am definitely a newcomer to this parallel future, but the premise is that the JLA gets reincarnated into future peoples' bodies. The "queer" part is that sometimes the old hero's sex and the new body's sex don't match, and sometimes the resulting gender expression is not what you would expect. The whole point of this team is to flip the standard formula on its head, but whether it addresses the queer aspects of its queering of the JLA (well executed or otherwise) is still unknown. So, check it out at your own risk?

And, while the new "best there is at what she does", Kamala Kahn, finds out some more about her past in Ms. Marvel #9, the old "best there is at what he does" faces his grim demise in Death of Wolverine #4. That's right, Wolverine dies! Again. Presumably not to be resurrected by the Hand this time. Can the Hand resurrect you twice? Also, how does that work? Is Northstar just a magically animated corpse, or did his temporary death have literally no consequences?

The fabulous She-Hulk (#6) continues to smash her way through The Blue File, outfitted in the best Kevin Wada covers to ever hit the stands. Meanwhile, over in the X-verse, we have the X-Men's 100th Anniversary Special (who were created 51 years ago...), as well as "The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier" in Uncanny X-Men #23. I don't think there's much of a chance that we will get to see Morph, but you never know! Lastly, the latest issue of Wicked & Divine is out, which gets included because, with gods inhabiting mortal bodies, there has to be someone queering it up!

I'm hoping that they mean Nightcrawler will be pulling a Buffy and sacrificing an eternity in heaven to schlep back onto this mortal coil (and have invisible sex with Spike), because anything else would just be yawn-city!

So, we know Molly and Ant-man are trying to find there way into this book (bringing along girlfriends Julie Power and Karolina Dean) and it seems like a lot of these dead characters are coming back in one form or another (Mettle is now a Doombot, basically), so the body count of this book looks like it might be topping out. But who knows! Maybe they'll kill your fav in the final scene!
