SuperQueeros! for July 22nd, 2015

Marvel publishes a book that doesn't tie into Secret Wars, Titans clash, and ex-villains chat. Plus, is Justice League 3001 a queer title in a positive way, or a heteronormative way? SuperQueeros: all that's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, transgender, and queer in comics today!

Uncanny X-Men #35
It's Mystique vs. Magik as my favorite queer mutant slips back into the title she's going to headline after Secret Wars. Will this issue lay the groundwork for that status quo?

Teen Titans #10
It's a clash of the Titans in Chicago! Which team will emerge victorious?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 10 #17
Angel and Xander bond over their mopey attitudes and statuses as ex-villains while Buffy and Spike navigate their new relationship. No big news on the Willow and Andrew fronts though... Also, survey: who in the Scooby gang haven't ever been a villain?

Archie vs. Sharknado #1
I am including this book because Kevin was on one of the alternate covers. Hopefully he and his beau will meet a creatively grizzly end!

Justice League 3001 #2
Okay, I am definitely a newcomer to this parallel future, but the premise is that the JLA gets reincarnated into future peoples' bodies. The "queer" part is that sometimes the old hero's sex and the new body's sex don't match, and sometimes the resulting gender expression is not what you would expect. The whole point of this team is to flip the standard formula on its head, but whether it addresses the queer aspects of its queering of the JLA (well executed or otherwise) is still unknown. So, check it out at your own risk?

Prez #2
So far the queers in this have been incidental, but I can feel in my bones that this book will bring the LGBTQueers!
